Transcript and Verification Requests

Hebrew Union College Transcript Requests

The transcript is the complete record of all academic work attempted at HUC. HUC does not provide transcripts that isolate specific courses, schools, terms, or degree levels. Official transcripts bear the university seal and the Registrar’s signature. Transcripts are issued directly to individuals, institutions, or organizations upon request from the student.

Students who need an unofficial record of their completed courses can find that information in the Student Information System (SIS). Students who need an enrollment verification letter should review the Enrollment Verification information below

For general transcript questions, please reach out to registrar@huc.edu.

Ordering Official Transcripts

Official transcript requests are processed through the National Student Clearinghouse.

  • Cost: $10.00 per transcript (includes domestic and electronic delivery).

  • Payment: All major credit cards (charged only when the transcript is sent).

  • Delivery Options: Mail, FedEx, Electronic Exchange, or secure PDF (email). Please note that for PDF transcripts to remain official, they must be sent directly to the recipient. If you forward the file from your own email, it will no longer be considered an official transcript.

  • Processing Time: 3-5 business days for most transcripts. Requests submitted during weekends or holidays are processed when the College reopens. Please note that if you attended or graduated prior to 2008, there will be a delay in processing your request. These records exist only in paper format and must be manually retrieved and digitized. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing.

For help with your order, contact the Clearinghouse at transcripts@studentclearinghouse.org or (703) 742-7791.

Please see below for information about unique transcript situations.

Transcripts for Siegal College Students (1971-2012):

Academic records for The Laura and Alvin Siegal College of Judaic Studies (formerly the Cleveland College of Jewish Studies) are maintained by the Registrar’s Office of Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati.

Transcripts requests for Siegal College students are processed by the National Student Clearinghouse via the above process. Please ensure that you include “Siegal College” in the Special Instructions or Recipient Notes section of your order so the Registrar’s Office can properly identify and fulfill your request.

Transcripts for Machon Kaplan Participants

Transcripts requests for students who participated in the Machon Kaplan program are processed by the National Student Clearinghouse via the above process. Please ensure that you include “Machon Kaplan” in the Special Instructions or Recipient Notes section of your order so the Registrar’s Office can properly identify and fulfill your request.

Academic Records of Deceased Students

In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a student’s rights expire upon death. HUC will not release the records of a deceased student for 25 years after the date of death, unless required by law or authorized by one of the following individuals: the executor of the estate or the deceased student’s spouse, parent(s), or children.

Requests for transcripts of deceased students should be emailed to registrar@huc.edu. Please be sure to include the following in the request: a copy of the student’s death certificate and a written explanation of the request. The Registrar’s Office will evaluate each request for legal or policy concerns before records are released.

Enrollment Verification Requests

Students may request an Enrollment Verification letter any time that they need to verify their enrollment for a third-party. Students can complete the Enrollment Verification request form, outlining the information needed in their letter. Letters will be generated for students within 3-5 business days in most cases. Requests submitted during weekends or holidays are processed when the College reopens.

Students who have previous loans and are enrolled at least half-time and above are eligible for in-school loan deferments. To receive a loan deferment, complete the Enrollment Verification request and send the lender’s “In-School Deferment Form” to the Registrar’s Office (registrar@huc.edu). New students with previous student loans can receive a loan deferment beginning on the first day of classes of the academic year.
