No, there are no qualifying exams.

While we strongly recommend that all students work to bring their Hebrew skills to a minimal level of decoding, writing and basic comprehension, there is no Hebrew requirement for admission to the Executive M.A. Program in Jewish Education. However, in order to graduate, you must have achieved a Hebrew proficiency level equivalent to one year of college-level Hebrew, either modern or classical. We encourage you to work on this prior to acceptance into the program.

Absolutely not! Our current students include individuals who work in early childhood education, at Hillel, and in central agencies, for example. Congregational “educators” include a synagogue program director and executive director. Leaders in experiential education such as camp settings and youth programs are strongly encouraged to apply.
