Peter Asher Pitzele explores the dimensional imagesof the biblical narrative with an artist’s license. He uses the art as armatures, points of departure, private and public referents for his work. He received his Ph.D. in English Literature from Harvard University and is trained in improvisational drama.Through his involvement with Jewish and Christian communities and seminaries, Pitzele developed Bibliodrama, a form of biblical interpretation (midrash). Midrashdescribes a way of interpreting biblical stories that goes beyond simple distillation of religious, legal, or moral teachings. It fills in gaps left in the biblical narrative regarding events andpersonalities that are only hinted at.
