Rachel Adelman ‘22

I was born and raised in Sherman Oaks, California and have been teaching kindergarten at Valley Beth Shalom Day School for the past ten years. I’m a proud alum of the school and am thrilled to be teaching at a place that is so close to my heart. Besides my love of teaching, I also am extremely passionate about all things Disney, and am the co-creator and founder of the Instagram blog, @WeKnowDisney. When I’m not teaching you can easily find me at one of the many Disney parks, spending time with my wonderful husband of eight years, or traveling to tropical destinations.

I’m so pleased with my decision to fulfill my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential at HUC-JIR. I have created such an incredible bond with my DeLeT cohort and the endless support from the faculty and my classmates throughout this educational journey has made it not only fulfilling, but also extremely rewarding. Through the several engaging lessons and enriching opportunities that I have had as a student in the DeLeT program, I now feel I have the proper tools, and experience to successfully teach and transform children’s lives through learning. HUC-JIR has become a second home to me, a place where I have learned, grown, and made relationships that will last a lifetime.
