Prayer Interrupted:
Music in A World Turned Upside Down

Sunday, January 26, 2020
3:00-4:30 pm at The Holocaust & Humanity Center at Union Terminal

The Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center (HHC), HUC-JIR’s Klau Library, and Cincinnati Song Initiative will collaborate for the first time to present Prayer Interrupted: Music in a World Turned Upside Down. The program will dive into the lives of Jews in and around the Holocaust. Songs by Jewish composers, punctuated by liturgical music found in Klau library’s famed Birnbaum collection, will be combined with narration to bring the audience into the world in which these songs were created. This concert commemorates the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and marks the one-year anniversary of HHC’s opening at historic Union Terminal.
