HUC-JIR Cantorial Faculty to Lead Inaugural Events at Jewish Institute of Cantorial Arts at Abraham Geiger Kolleg, Berlin

HUC-JIR faculty, including Cantor Bruce Ruben, Director of the School of Sacred Music, Cantors Josee Wolff, Eli Schleifer, Yvon Shore, and Joyce Rosenzweig, will attend the opening of the Abraham Geiger Kolleg's cantorial school September 12 through 14, 2008. Geiger Cantorial Director Mimi Sheffer has organized a series of concerts and classes throughout the weekend. Cantor Ruben will sing Shacharit service at the historic Rykestrasse Synagogue and will speak and sing at the Sunday evening concert in honor of the significance of the occasion. Cantors Wolff, Shore, and Schleifer will teach master classes and perform with Joyce Rosenzweig in the Sunday concert.
