Rabbi Stacy Rigler '03, MAJE '01, RJE, Appointed Executive Director of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators (ARJE)

Stacy RiglerRabbi Stacy Rigler ’03, MAJE ’01, RJE, has been appointed Executive Director of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators (ARJE), as of January 10, 2022. As a nationally recognized Jewish educator, Rabbi Rigler will lead the professional association of Jewish educators and will serve as the voice for Reform Jewish education, inspiring excellence across the education landscape.

“Rabbi Rigler’s vision, leadership, and depth of expertise will no doubt guide the ARJE to new heights,” stated Dr. Miriam Heller Stern, RJE, Vice Provost for Educational Strategy and National Director of the School of Education at Hebrew Union College. “On behalf of our leadership team and faculty at HUC, we are thrilled to partner with Rabbi Rigler and the lay leadership of the ARJE to envision and advance the field of Jewish education with creativity and compassion.

Rabbi Rigler earned her Master of Arts in Jewish Education from the Rhea Hirsch School of Education at HUC’s Jack H. Skirball Campus in 2001 and was ordained at HUC’s New York campus in 2003. During her 17 years as the Rabbi Educator at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park, PA, Rabbi Rigler was instrumental in building coalitions, developing strategic partnerships, and successfully innovating a nationally recognized educational program. Most recently serving as the Senior Program Manager of Jewish Education at the Foundation for Jewish Camp, Rabbi Rigler has also worked with the URJ Youth Department, was a past participant in the HUC/JTS Leadership Institute, and has advanced new ideas within the field of Jewish Education.

“My career has been deeply shaped by the educational experiences at HUC in both the rabbinical and education programs,” stated Rabbi Rigler. “Following my graduation and ordination at HUC, the ARJE became the community of learners and leaders that served as a guide to help me implement my learning and make a difference in the field of Jewish education. I look forward to helping be that source of support and guidance for Jewish educators and to ensure they have a meaningful and supportive professional home.”

The ARJE serves a broad spectrum of Jewish educators by working to inspire excellence in Reform Jewish education. HUC’s School of Education is proudly engaged in the “Bina Partnership” with ARJE, an expression of mutual commitment and shared vision to elevate and advance the quality of Reform Jewish education, the profession of Jewish educator, and Jewish learning as a whole.
