Like the wicks of the Havdalah candle, our HUC-JIR community is intertwined and united in our concern for the safety our alum Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker ‘06 and his congregants, who were taken hostage during Shabbat morning services earlier today at Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, Texas. Our prayers are with Rabbi Cytron-Walker, his family, his congregation, the Colleyville community, and all those impacted by this unfolding crisis. We send our support and pray for a speedy and peaceful resolution of this horrific situation.
