Sivan Zakai, Ph.D., Sara S. Lee Associate Professor of Jewish Education and Lauren Applebaum, Ed.D., Director of DeLeT Programs were awarded The Sylvia and Moshe Ettenberg Research Grant in Jewish Education for their project, “Learning and Teaching about What Matters.”
The “Learning and Teaching about What Matters” project is a collaboration among researchers Dr. Applebaum and Dr. Zakai, 4th and 5th grade students, and educators in Jewish institutions in the United States. They are seeking to better understand how American Jewish children and their educators think about “what matters” in the world and the educational implications of those ideas.
