Jacob Mann book cover artJacob Mann, Professor of Jewish History, at Hebrew Union College from 1921 until his untimely death in 1940, was an early scholar of the Cairo Genizah materials. He published books and articles in the areas of medieval Jewish history (particularly Geonica), Jewish liturgy, midrash and homiletics, Jewish messianism, the calendar, and Karaitica. His work is still routinely consulted by scholars today. This volume, originating in conference papers, appraises his scholarly work at the century-mark and also provides an updated biography and bibliography of his writings.
