Updates on the Crisis in Israel

Our priority has been the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of our students and our entire Jerusalem family during this difficult time of war.

Updates as of 6/23/25

  • Last week we made the difficult decision to delay the in-person portion of the Year-In-Israel program until at least July 27. Following the US attack on Iran’s nuclear sites and increased tensions in the area we are continuing to evaluate the situation as we prioritize student safety. Between now and the start of the in-person portion of the program, a series of activities that accommodate in-person, hybrid, and fully virtual modalities will be scheduled. The reduced in-person summer term will run from July 27 through August 21. The fall semester will begin on August 31 as planned; but we are closely monitoring events and will communicate promptly if we need to make further changes. Students should continue to check the YII Canvas site for further details.
  • Ulpan MILAH is on break until June 29.
  • The Israel Rabbinical Program (IRP) is operating virtually.
  • Rikma is operating virtually.
  • The Teachers’ Lounge final gathering is postponed. Participants will be updated.
  • The campus and library are currently closed. As we monitor the Home Front Command’s directives on a daily basis, campus access will be updated accordingly.
  • We are closely monitoring the situation and will keep alumni updated on any changes in plans for the upcoming programs including, alumni shabbat, and other gatherings in accordance with local guidelines.
