Cantor Yvon F. Shore is the Director of Liturgical Arts and Music, the first HUC-JIR cantor to hold this position. She earned her Masters in Sacred Music from HUC-JIR. Cantor Shore has received additional graduate work in Ethnomusicology from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and in Liturgy from HUC-JIR. Her undergraduate degrees are in Flute, Conducting, and Music Education from the Wells School of Music at West Chester University.

Prior to teaching at HUC-JIR in 2004, she served Congregation Beth Shalom in New City, NY and Temple Beth-El in Hillsboro, New Jersey. Cantor Shore is currently on the board of Roots of Reform, served on the executive boards of the American Conference of Cantors for 11 years, ARZA for 10 years, and the World Union for Progressive Judaism. She was on the URJ commission for Worship and Religion and maintains an active schedule as Artist/Scholar in residence to URJ congregations.

Cantor Shore sings with the May Festival Chorus and Chamber ensemble. The May Festival is the oldest music festival in North America. Most recently she has worked with artists James Conlon, Juanjo Mena, John Adams, Katarina Wincor, and Jessie Montgomery.
