Kristin R. Young is Manager of Special Projects and Events and is the Executive Producer of HUC Connect, HUC-JIR’s premiere public online learning program. Developed in 2020 in partnership with the Communications Team and, as of 2021, Dean Joshua Holo, Ph.D., host of the College Commons Podcast, HUC Connect features HUC-JIR’s excellent faculty and outside scholars, such as Dahlia Lithwick and Eddie S. Glaude, Jr., and includes lectures, panels, and live conversation with audience members on topics ranging from the Arts to Religion. With Kristin’s support, HUC Connect attracted 4,000 unique attendees and audience members from 55 countries, helping to promote HUC-JIR’s presence in the world of digital programming internationally.  

Kristin joined HUC-JIR’s Department of Business and Program Development as Program Assistant in 2014. In this role, Kristin contributed significantly to the planning of Symposium One: Crafting Jewish Life in a Complex Religious Landscape, Symposium Two: These Truths We Hold – Judaism in the Age of Truthiness, President Rehfeld’s Inauguration in 2019, and the 5 cohorts of the Founder’s Fellowship, HUC-JIR’s leadership program for Reform college students. Kristin also provides support to the President’s Office and Strategic Planning process by means of data analysis, program management, and content design and presentation. 

Kristin co-chairs the Staff Support Taskforce and the Hineinu Kaleidoscope Collective, HUC-JIR’s employee resource group for staff members of color and their allies.

In her spare time, Kristin sings professionally along the East Coast and debuted in the Extra Chorus of the Metropolitan Opera in 2021. She received her M.M. degree in Vocal Performance from Boston University and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Music from Barnard College of Columbia University.
