Dr. Kathy Schwartz is the Director of Hebrew Union College’s Executive MA in Jewish Education program. Prior to that role, she has held key positions in a number of Jewish educational settings, including as Senior Director of Professional Learning at Jewish LearningWorks and decades as a congregational educator in Boulder and Milwaukee. She has consulted for Hebrew learning projects at the Jewish United Fund, Chicago and the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland. She chairs the camp faculty committee for Olin Sang Ruby – Union Institute and is a past president of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators.

Dr. Schwartz received the ARJE’s Distinguished Educator Honor, has been published in the Journal of Jewish Education, the Education Forum and eJP, and has authored several teachers’ guides. She earned her AB from Washington University in St. Louis, an MAJE and MAJCS from Hebrew Union College and an Ed.D from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. When not supporting Jewish educators or Jewish education, Kathy can be found at her home in Boulder hiking the foothills of the Rockies or creating jewelry at her metalsmithing bench.
