Dr. Ari Berger teaches Jewish Art History with a focus on the United States. Her scholarly work examines the intertwined worlds of gender, art, and public life, and it tells the stories of the women who founded the first American Jewish museums. Her work proposes a new, gendered way of thinking about Jewish philanthropy.

Dr. Berger earned her PhD at the University of Virginia, her MA degrees at the Jewish Theological Seminary and Columbia University, and her BA at the University of Pennsylvania. She was formerly an educator at Geffen Academy at UCLA, where she taught United States History and Civics.
