Robert Millstone

Robert Millstone, elected July 22, 2020

Millstone, a distinguished philanthropic and civic leader of the St. Louis community, is President and founder of The Millstone Company, a real estate development and private equity management company. In 2013, he created Millstone Capital Advisors to manage the private equity fund he established with Fred Flegel and Jim Saitz. Previously, he was President, CEO, and General Counsel at Millstone Bangert, Inc., a premier airport and highway construction company.

He also worked as a Senior Trial Attorney for the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice and as an associate at Coburn & Croft. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics in 1985, J.D. in 1988, and an Executive MBA in 2002, all from Washington University in St. Louis.

In addition, Millstone is active in a number of business, professional, and community organizations and has received numerous honors and awards. Bob is currently a member of the Governance and Education Leadership Committees of the Regional Business Council; Board member for the Staenberg and Lubin Green Foundations (supporting Foundations of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis); Board Chair of Hillel at the University of Vermont; and President and Director of the Millstone Foundation.

Some of the awards he has received are the Discovery! 370 Visionary Award; the Distinguished Alumni Award from Washington University Law School; and the Brotherhood and Sisterhood award from the National Conference for Community and Justice in St. Louis. He and his wife, Colleen, received the Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School’s Meyer and Marcelle Kranzberg Visionary Award, the Ferring Award for Philanthropy from the Center of Creative Arts. Mllstone and his family also received the Netzach Award from the St. Louis Chapter of the American Jewish Committee.

He is a member of both Central Reform Congregation and United Hebrew Congregation in St. Louis.
