Julie A. Raskind

Julie Adler Raskind, elected July 22, 2020

Raskind, a prominent civic and communal leader, has a deep commitment to the academic, healthcare, and educational institutions of Cleveland. She serves on the Board of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, where she was a member of the Executive Committee and a Co-chair of the Cantorial Search Committee; is the Chair of the Korda Institute for Teaching, a start-up non-profit organization to equip educators and administrators for change; is a Board member of College Now Greater Cleveland, where she has mentored first generational college students; and is the Chair of Ideastream, the public media outlet for television, news radio, and classical music radio in northeast Ohio.

She is a Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Mount Sinai Health Care Foundation, where she chairs the Community Advisory Board for Nurse Family Partnership, and was a member of the Clinical Council, President’s Advisory Committee, Quality and Professional Affairs Committee, and Rainbow Committee of the University Hospitals Case Medical Center prior to her retirement from the board.

In addition, she was the co-founder of a Cleveland area chapter of 100 Women Who Care, Board Chair of Voices for Ohio’s Children, a Board member of the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland, Executive Committee member and Education Committee Chair of the Hawken School, and Executive Committee member and treasurer of Temple Israel Minneapolis.

Raskind received her B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University (1979) and her M.B.A. in Finance from DePaul University (1983).
