Letter from HUC Youth Programs Rabbinical Interns
Summer 2008
Dear Jewish Professional,
You have the opportunity to provide your outstanding high school and college students with a weekend of intensive Jewish learning, exploration and fun with HUC-JIR faculty and students on the historic Cincinnati campus of HUC-JIR. We need your assistance in identifying excellent candidates from your synagogue to attend one of four weekend events.
The Department of Youth Programs depends on you to identify exceptional candidates for our events, thus setting them on the path towards becoming the next generation of Reform Jewish leaders. We ask that you to take the following steps.
- Share the dates and content of our 2008-09 events with your students, and encourage them to attend one of our programs
- Nominate students to attend each event through a) the enclosed year-long nomination form. Or b) submitting a nomination on-line at www.huc.edu/HighSchoolAndCollege.
- Encourage students to apply for our programs themselves. Nominations are not required to attend, but students must obtain a signature from you.
We encourage you to share the information in our brochure with colleagues in your congregation: educators, cantors and youth group advisors.
