Etiquette when being hosted

If you are invited for a Shabbat meal, plan on attending services with the family. This way, you can experience different types of services, get to know your host family, and allow the service to be a dinner conversation starter. It is customary to bring a small gift of wine, flowers, or chocolates.

Parks and Outdoor Exercise

Jerusalem has excellent parks for running and exercise, including:

Gan Sacher - In between Givat Ram/Israel Museum and the Knesset, includes open grassy areas and exercise equipment

Gan HaPaamon - In between Derech BeitLehem, Karen HaYesod and Yitzhak Elkhanan Street, it includes basketball courts and exercise equipment

Derech HaRekevet - Starting at the first station and running towards the Teddy Stadium, this several-mile long path along the Ottoman train route is perfect for jogging

Gan HaAtzmaut - Large, central park in Jerusalem. Several festivals will take place here throughout the year.
