Emerging Themes
The strategic plan should focus on ways to:
1. Strengthen HUC-JIR's vision as one college with four campuses and
multiple programs
One College - Four Campuses
- Highlight the unique aspects of each campus and
how they serve our stakeholders
2. Achieve excellence and distinction in all that we do
3. Position HUC-JIR as the premier intellectual center for liberal Jewish thought
4. Enable HUC-JIR to fulfill its mission to develop a broad spectrum
of outstanding leaders for the Jewish community
Emerging Issues
HUC-JIR needs to strengthen its capacity to:
- Position our offerings as distinct from others in a competitive and
constantly changing world
- Support and recognize faculty to ensure on-going excellence
- Recruit outstanding students by broadening HUC-JIR's visibility in
its areas of excellence
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial aid strategy
- Leverage the use of technology in all aspects of our operations
- Expand access to the Klau Library, American Jewish Archives,
and other research resources
- Understand trends in professional placement and career paths
- Make sure that our facilities meet our present and future needs
- Establish responsible financial plans that:
- Reflect institutional priorities
- Provide sustainable key programs and activities
