This index helps to access Sephardic music in printed sources. At present one main source is in the database listed as ALJE, over time other sources will be added. ALJE is Isaac Levy's Antologia de Liturgia Judaeo-Espangnoles (Jerusalem: Ministry of Education and Culture, 1974). This is a 10 volume source collected by Isaac Levy, a collector who lived in Israel, collected and printed between 1959-1970. Each volume contains music for various occasions based on the liturgical calendar and holidays. Melodies from various traditions of Western Sephardic, North Africa, Greek, Turkish and other Mediterranean Jewish communities are in each volume. There is a table of contents in each volume but not central index. This index provides searchable fields by liturgical title, community and occasion. The volume number and page number indicates where the item can be found in Levy's anthology.
