Laurel Derks Nelson, has a unique blend of business experience, coaching skills, and an effective leadership style integrating collaboration with consensus building. These skills serve her well in her current role as Chief Executive Officer for Center for Respite Care. Other nonprofits where Ms. Nelson provided leadership and produced results are Cincinnati Center for Autism and Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky. Understanding the complexity of today’s nonprofit environment has occupied Ms. Nelson’s life for eleven years. She has extended her education beyond university (BS and MPA from Northern Kentucky University) to include the American College of Healthcare Executives and Executive Service Corps of Cincinnati Leadership Institute, and numerous workshops to strengthen her skills and knowledge in various business disciplines.
