Marla Eglash Abraham, Appointed Interim Director of the School of Jewish Communal Service at HUC-JIR/LA

"Marla Eglash Abraham is an extraordinary professional, a gifted teacher, and one of the College Institute's significant treasures, whose talents and resources will bring new creativity to the SJCS with this assignment," stated Dr. Steven Windmueller, Interim Dean, HUC-JIR/LA in announcing this appointment.
As Lecturer on Jewish Communal Service at HUC-JIR, her areas of expertise in teaching and consulting include strategic planning, fundraising and financial resource development, supervision and mentoring, and board development and training.
Before coming to HUC-JIR, she was Director of Business and Professions of the United Jewish Fund of the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles. She is a past President of the Jewish Communal Service Professionals of Southern California.
She received the dual degrees of Master of Arts in Jewish Communal Service at HUC-JIR/Los Angeles and M.S.W. from the University of Southern California in 1985.
