 Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion Announces the Creation of the Bonnie and Daniel Tisch Rabbinical Fellows Program Rabbi David Ellenson, President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR), has announced the creation of the Bonnie and Daniel Tisch Rabbinical Fellows Program, designed to train exceptional rabbis who have the ability to lead and transform synagogues and other Jewish communal institutions. "21st-century Jewry requires visionary leaders who can strengthen Jewish identity, build community, inspire spirituality and social action, engage the unaffiliated, and ensure a vital Jewish future," stated Rabbi Ellenson. Each year, five students will be selected to be Tisch Rabbinical Fellows. The program will include intensive seminars in leadership skill-building, a focused rabbinical residency, and mentorship by select rabbis. Each Fellow will receive a full-tuition scholarship and a living stipend, which will reduce his/her need to take on outside work. It is hoped that this initiative will extend to HUC-JIR's other professional programs. The Tisch Rabbinical Fellows Program is designed to strengthen the development of transformational Jewish leadership for the Reform Movement and the larger Jewish community. Bonnie Tisch is a dedicated member of HUC-JIR's Board of Governors and Vice Chair of its Institutional Advancement Committee.
