DeLeT - Day School Leadership through Teaching Program at Hebrew Union College-Institute of Religion Announces 2005 Graduates

DeLeT - Day School Leadership through Teaching, an innovative program of the Rhea Hirsch School of Education, is dedicated to fostering teaching excellence in Jewish Day Schools in North America. DeLeT at HUC-JIR in Los Angeles is supported by dedicated philanthropists in consultation with DeLeT at Brandeis University. DeLeT carries out its mission through a 13- month fellowship institute, which combines academic coursework with mentored experience in Jewish Day Schools. This innovative approach has been successful in attracting and retaining talented new people into the field of Day School Education. DeLeT provides and practical tools and strategies to make it possible for DeLeT fellows to succeed in creating a powerful Jewish learning community in the day school and be part of larger professional community of learners and future leaders.
Mentor Educators from the Jewish Day School where the Fellows completed their student teaching assignments presented the recipients for certification. Several faculty members shared stories about the great impact these Fellows had on the children whose lives they touched.
