Bubis Gerald Bubis, The Alfred Gottschalk Professor Emeritus of Jewish Communal Studies, is the Founding Director of the School of Jewish Communal Service (SJCS) of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. The SJCS was the first of its kind and has graduated over 600 Jewish Communal Professionals who serve Jewish communities throughout the world. Professor Bubis has lectured, trained and consulted with over 2,000 Jewish Communal Professionals and Organizations. He is the author of over 180 articles, manuscripts and books. He has held numerous leadership positions in Jewish Communal organizations and Professional associations. He has had singular impact in the Jewish Communal sphere. Arnold M. Eisen Arnold M. Eisen is Professor and Chair of Religious Studies at Stanford University, a frequent speaker on issues related to contemporary Jewish life before lay and scholarly audiences throughout North America, and an active participant in communal discussions concerning the future of American Judaism. His publications include: The Jew Within: Self, Family and Community in America (with Steven M. Cohen), The Chosen People in America and Galut: Modern Jewish Reflection on Homelessness and Homecoming and Taking hold of Torah: Jewish Commitment and Community. |
