Rabbi Dan Bridge Named Alumnus of the Year of HUC-JIR’s School of Jewish Communal Service

Rabbi Dan Bridge (Cert. in Jewish Communal Service, L ’81; Rabbinical Ordination, C ‘85) has been named Alumnus of the Year by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s School of Jewish Communal Service (SCJS). The SCJS honored Rabbi Bridge at the Alumni of the Year program on November 3rd at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple – Irmas Campus, in Los Angeles. Bridge was lauded for his contributions to the field of Jewish communal service and for his accomplishments during his service at the University of Washington Hillel, as well as for his longstanding support of the SJCS.

Bridge worked as the Assistant Director of the Pacific Southwest Council of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations before becoming the Greenstein Family Executive Director of Hillel, Foundation for Jewish Campus Life at the University of Washington (UW) fourteen years ago. During this time, he has attracted and connected many of the Jewish students on campus to Hillel programs, while also engaging with the Jewish community in the Pacific Northwest. With support from the UW Board, Bridge recently completed a $12 million capital campaign for a new center for Jewish life at UW.
