Rabbi Dan Bridge Named Alumnus of the Year of HUC-JIR’s School of Jewish
Communal Service
Rabbi Dan Bridge (Cert. in Jewish Communal Service, L ’81; Rabbinical
Ordination, C ‘85) has been named Alumnus of the Year by Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s School of Jewish Communal Service
(SCJS). The SCJS honored Rabbi Bridge at the Alumni of the Year program on November
3rd at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple – Irmas Campus, in Los Angeles. Bridge
was lauded for his contributions to the field of Jewish communal service and
for his accomplishments during his service at the University of Washington Hillel,
as well as for his longstanding support of the SJCS.
Bridge worked as the Assistant Director of the Pacific Southwest Council of
the Union of American Hebrew Congregations before becoming the Greenstein Family
Executive Director of Hillel, Foundation for Jewish Campus Life at the University
of Washington (UW) fourteen years ago. During this time, he has attracted and
connected many of the Jewish students on campus to Hillel programs, while also
engaging with the Jewish community in the Pacific Northwest. With support from
the UW Board, Bridge recently completed a $12 million capital campaign for a
new center for Jewish life at UW.
