HUC-JIR Institute for Religious School
Teaching Assistants
The HUC-JIR Institute for Religious School Teaching Assistants
will be held on HUC's Cincinnati campus, September 27-29, 2002.
This is an excellent opportunity for your congregation's 10th-12th
grade religious school teaching assistants to come together and
discuss, learn, and celebrate being TA's in your congregation.
They will be lead in this programming by the rabbinical interns
in HUC-JIR's Youth Programs office and by two of education students
from HUC-JIR's Rhea Hirsch School of Education.
Students will also have the opportunity to study with Dr. Racelle
Weiman, Director of HUC-JIR's Holocaust and Humanities Education
Center and return to your congregation with valuable tools that
they can bring back to help aid in such education at your synagogue.
Students will not only study during this weekend, but will also
socialize, worship, and celebrate Shabbat and Simchat Torah with
the HUC-JIR community.
Students are nominated by their congregational clergy for this
program. Every congregation has the opportunity to send two students
to this program. The cost of the program is $85 plus round-trip
transportation to Cincinnati.
Please contact Brigitte Rosenberg, Assistant Director of Recruitment
and Youth Programs, with questions or nominations or e-mail HUC-JIR's
Youth Programs interns directly at YouthPrograms@huc.edu
HUC-JIR looks forward to hosting your students.
