View HUC-JIR/NY Graduation Live on the Internet

Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion is proud to
announce a very special experiment in a wonderful new technology.
This year, for the first time, you may attend our Graduation ceremonies
on the internet, from anywhere in the world. All you will need is
a high speed internet connection (DSL, cable modem, T1, etc.), and
IBM-PC compatible computer and the correct software.
Graduation will take place on Thursday evening, May 9th, at 8
PM. You are welcome to watch it live, or from our archive anytime
after May 11th.
During this wonderful occasion, our Rabbinical, Cantorial, Education
and Doctor of Ministry students will be receiving their degrees.
The ceremonies will reach across movement lines within Judaism when
presenting honorary degrees to individuals who have made significant
contributions to the vitality of the Jewish people: the Chancellors
of the Conservative Movement's Jewish Theological Seminary of America,
Rabbi Ismar Schorsch, and Orthodox Judaism's Bar-Ilan University
in Israel, Rabbi Emanuel Rackman, as well as the President Emeritus
of the United Jewish Communities, Stephen Solender, and the Founding
Director of the Brookdale Center of Gerontology of the Brookdale
Center on Aging of Hunter College, Dr. Rose Dobrof. We are extremely
proud to honor these distinguished individuals, and hope you will
join us via the wonders of the internet.
