HUC-JIR Library Appointments

Dr. David Ellenson has announced new appointments for distinguished administrators of HUC-JIR's Libraries:

Dr. David Gilner, Director of Libraries and Associate Director of the American Jewish Periodical Center, has been appointed Chair of the Board of Editors of Studies in Bibliography and Booklore and Bibliographica Judaica, publications of the HUC-JIR Library. Studies in Bibliography and Booklore is the oldest scholarly journal in English devoted to the study of Judaica and Hebraica books and bibliography; Bibliographica Judaica is the Library's monographic series devoted primarily to the publication of Judaic bibliographies (a full list of titles can be found on the HUC Press catalog at http://www.huc.edu/newspubs/press/index.shtml).

Dr. Gilner has also been elected President of the Council of Archives and Research Libraries in Jewish Studies (CARLJS) of the National Foundation of Jewish Culture. His election took place at the 37th Annual Convention of the Association of Jewish Libraries in Denver, Colorado.

Laurel Wolfson, Deputy Librarian of the Klau Library in Cincinnati has been appointed Managing Editor of Studies in Bibliography and Booklore and Bibliographica Judaica. In addition, she has been installed as Treasurer of the Association of Jewish Libraries, where she has served for twelve consecutive years on its Council, begins her fifth year on its Executive Board, and has previously served two terms as Vice President for Publications.
