HUC-JIR Library Appointments
Dr. David Ellenson has announced new appointments for distinguished
administrators of HUC-JIR's Libraries:
Dr. David Gilner, Director of Libraries and Associate Director
of the American Jewish Periodical Center, has been appointed Chair
of the Board of Editors of Studies in Bibliography and Booklore
and Bibliographica Judaica, publications of the HUC-JIR Library.
Studies in Bibliography and Booklore is the oldest scholarly journal
in English devoted to the study of Judaica and Hebraica books and
bibliography; Bibliographica Judaica is the Library's monographic
series devoted primarily to the publication of Judaic bibliographies
(a full list of titles can be found on the HUC Press catalog at
http://www.huc.edu/newspubs/press/index.shtml).
Dr. Gilner has also been elected President of the Council of Archives
and Research Libraries in Jewish Studies (CARLJS) of the National
Foundation of Jewish Culture. His election took place at the 37th
Annual Convention of the Association of Jewish Libraries in Denver,
Colorado.
Laurel Wolfson, Deputy Librarian of the Klau Library in Cincinnati
has been appointed Managing Editor of Studies in Bibliography and
Booklore and Bibliographica Judaica. In addition, she has been installed
as Treasurer of the Association of Jewish Libraries, where she has
served for twelve consecutive years on its Council, begins her fifth
year on its Executive Board, and has previously served two terms
as Vice President for Publications.
