Sally F. Korkin of Cincinnati was inducted as a member of the Board of Overseers of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion

Sally F. Korkin was inducted as a member of the Cincinnati Board of Overseers of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion on April 27, 2002 during a Shabbat morning service that was held in conjunction with the Inaugural Meeting of Combined HUC-JIR Boards of Overseers from Cincinnati, Los Angeles, and New York.

Korkin is a graduate of Walnut Hills High School, Washington University in St. Louis (B.A., 1968), and University of Cincinnati (M.Ed., 1970). She has been the Director of Development and Community Relations at Cedar Village since 1996. From 1978-1992 she was a partner/owner of Triangle Productions, a special events/entertainment company. A lifelong, active member of Rockdale Temple, Korkin currently sits on the board and serves as its secretary. She has been a Big Sister for Big Brothers/Big Sisters since 1998; is a past chairman and current member of Promote Wyoming Committee; and has served on the board of many community organizations.

Korkin is the great granddaughter of Dr. William Rosenau, ordained from HUC in its sixth graduating class in 1889. She is married to Gerald Korkin and they are the proud parents of two children, Kerri Korkin Sonenshine and Suzanne Korkin, and one grandchild, Marguerite Zion. Daughter Suzanne graduated on May 5, 2002 from HUC-JIR in Los Angeles with a joint degree in Jewish Communal Service and Social Work.

The Cincinnati Board of Overseers consists of lay members of Reform Jewish communities throughout the Midwest and South who serve as representatives and advocates of HUC-JIR in their respective communities. The members of the Cincinnati Board of Overseers secure and contribute resources to perpetuate and strengthen the academic and cultural programs of the College-Institute in general, and the Cincinnati campus in particular.
