Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion launches its Fall 2002 Community Programs: museum exhibitions, continuing legal education, lectures, courses, outreach and study sessions, as well as extensive adult education courses.

Highlights include:

Rebirth After the Holocaust: The Bergn-Belsen Displaced Persons Camp, 1945-1950 Upon the British Army's liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp on April 15, 1945, the uprooted and homeless Jewish survivors emerged with a boundless determination to rebuild their lives.

Leonard Nimoy: Shekhina
Leonard Nimoy's evocative photographs express an artist's search for the essence of the Shekhina.

Archetype/Anonymous: Biblical Women in Contemporary Art
Seventeen contemporary artists depict biblical women from the time of Creation in Genesis to the 7th century BCE.

Continuing Legal Education, Legal Ethics in Jewish and American Law
Professor Russell G. Pearce compares and contrasts secular and Jewish perspectives on the lawyer's role. Topics include: The Lawyer in Jewish Tradition, Confidentiality and Conflicts, Counseling Clients and Pro Bono.
