Since 1924, the Hebrew Union College Annual has published the finest scholarship in the areas of Jewish and Cognate Studies, Ancient and Modern: Bible, Rabbinics, Language and Literature, History, Philosophy, and Religion, providing a scholarly forum of the highest quality. Each article is anonymously peer-reviewed by two readers, and is selected on the basis of its making a new and significant contribution to the discipline in which it is being submitted.

Article Submissions
Uniquely providing a forum for articles of extended length (though accepting briefer pieces as well), the Annual welcomes for consideration scholarly articles in the broad areas listed above.

Authors submitting manuscripts for publication are asked to do the following:
  1. For manuscript formatting, follow The University of Chicago Manual of Style in general and The SBL Handbook of Style specifically.
  2. All manuscripts, including notes, should be continuously paginated, double-spaced and employ generous margins all around.
  3. Every manuscript must be accompanied by an English abstract of 200 words maximum.
  4. Submissions should be sent in Portable Document Format (PDF) as email attachments with the subject line, "HUCA Article Submission, attention Editor," and emailed to: annual@huc.edu.
