Recruitment Update! May/June 2013

Friday, May 24, 2013

HUC-JIR is on the road! Our Recruitment and Admissions Staff will be meeting with prospective students all summer.  If you know someone who has expressed interest in learning more about one of HUC-JIR’s programs, or if you know someone who you think would make a great student, let us know!

We will be in ISRAEL! Rabbi Rachel Sabath Beit-Halachmi is hard at work to ensure our summer recruitment in Israel doesn’t miss a beat.  URJ Kesher groups touring through Jerusalem will visit HUC-JIR, we will make appearances and presentations to the many MASA programs in Israel, and alumni attending the Alumni Shabbat in Israel (July 6) will be sure to be reminded of their important role in recruitment.

We will be at CONFERENCES!

  • Hava Hashira (May 29 - June 2 at Camp OSRUI) – Cantor Ellen Dreskin
  • Institute of Southern Jewish Life Education Conference (June 23 - 25, 2013 in Jackson, MS) – Dr. Evie Rotstein
  • AJC Access Conference (May 31 - June 2, 2013 in Washington, DC) – Jessica Ingram
  • Hillel Institute (Late July 2013 at Washington University in St. Louis, MO) – Rabbi Rachel Sabath

We will be at CAMP! Camp is a top priority for our summer recruitment efforts.  Each of the URJ Camps will be visited by a member of the Admissions and Recruitment team.  Local camps (residential and day) will also get a visit.  If you will be at any of these camps, please let the team member know!
