HUC-JIR is excited to announce the acceptance of six cantorial soloists into the new Cantorial Certification Program, which will begin in January of 2013:
These accomplished soloists will continue to serve their congregations as they embark on a four year professional journey which will include study at HUC-JIR both in New York and in Jerusalem, CPE credit, and a rigorous academic agenda which will encompass both online and face-to-face learning. Our faculty for this first cohort includes Rabbis Yoel Kahn, David Nelson, and Kim Geringer, and Cantors Andrew Bernard and Rosalie Boxt. Learn more about the program.
If your congregation is currently served by a soloist, please consider supporting them in their efforts to become a full clergy partner who understands that being a Cantor is about so much more than liturgical repertoire (which is also, of course, a major part of the Certification curriculum!). For further information, please contact Ellen Dreskin, Coordinator of the Cantorial Certification Program, firstname.lastname@example.org.
