Dr. Michael Marmur, Vice President for Academic Affairs, has announced that Clyde Parrish has been appointed Registrar at HUC-JIR, commencing July 18, 2011.
Parrish comes to HUC-JIR after serving as a member of the Registrar’s staff at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and after serving for 19 years as Assistant Dean of the College of Business at the University of Cincinnati.
“We look forward to Clyde Parrish’s leadership and guidance, as he applies his expertise to the needs of the College-Institute,” stated Dr. Marmur. “He brings to HUC-JIR his extensive experience in transcript credit evaluation; interpretation of academic policy; graduation certification;commencement convocations; editing college bulletins;maintenance of academic records; assistance to faculty committees;registration management; staff recruitment and supervision; and developing course schedules. Furthermore, he is well-versed with FERPA regulations, as well as various accreditation requirements and processes.”
At the University of Cincinnati, Parrish managed a staff of eight, including clerical and professional staff. His office managed the academic records for over 2,100 students, including student academic files, an internal college database, curriculum check-sheets, and associated files. He also wrote and edited the College of Business Bulletin and administered academic policy and any exceptions to policy. Working with department heads and the Associate Dean, he developed the annual academic schedule for the College.
He moved his office into the computer age by developing internal programs and databases to meet record-keeping and report writing needs. In his work at the University of Texas at Austin and at the University of Cincinnati, he worked with IT staff to develop new systems, refine existing systems, and learn how current systems function.
At Cincinnati State, he worked principally with transfer credit evaluation systems and related state and faculty academic policies. Additionally, he worked with webpage development and other IT issues related to student services.
