The Department of Admissions and Recruitment is partnering with the Alumni Affairs Department and summer camp network for some hard-hitting recruitment this summer! Campers, CITs, and summer camp staff make some of the best HUC-JIR students. In fact, our research shows that our most successful applicants reference their time spent at camp with HUC-JIR students and alumni as the pivotal influence in choosing their life's work. HUC-JIR is capitalizing on this great opportunity to make connections and ensure a bright future for the Jewish people.
The Department of Admissions and Recruitment has engaged more than 60 current students and alumni who will be at camp this summer to help recruit the next generation of Jewish professional leadership. Our “Camp Captains” will visit URJ Camps this summer, as well as other Reform movement affiliated camps and community camps. Once at camp, we ask each Captain to reach out to other HUC-JIR alumni, students, and friends to help with their recruitment efforts. The professional staff at each camp is aware of HUC-JIR’s recruitment efforts and is fully supportive. Each Captain will receive a “Recruitment in a Box” package, containing great giveaway items, a “Cheat Sheet of Ideas” of how best to organize recruitment efforts during their time at camp, publicity materials about HUC-JIR’s programs, and much more.
This joint effort will engage students, alumni, and our partners at the URJ and other camp-affiliated institutions. We are hopeful of our efforts and look forward to future, creative ideas. For further information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
