Karen M. Hoguet was inducted onto the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) at its meeting in Cincinnati on October 18, 2010.

Karen Hoguet is Chief Financial Officer of Macy’s, Inc. (formerly known as Federated Department Stores, Inc.) Hoguet joined the company as a senior consultant in marketing and long-range planning after leaving the Boston Consultant Group in 1982. In 1985, she was named director of capital and business planning and, in 1987, promoted to operating vice president for planning and financial analysis. A year later, she was elected a corporate vice president and became senior vice president of planning in 1991. Hoguet added the title of corporate treasurer a year later. In 1997, she was elected senior vice president and chief financial officer, and promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer in 2005.
Hoguet has volunteered her time in a diverse range of community service activities. She is treasurer of the Fine Arts Fund of Greater Cincinnati and chaired the 2009 CityWide Fine Arts Fund campaign. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Overseers of HUC-JIR, Cincinnati City Center Development Corporation (3CDC), The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. Previously, Hoguet served as president of the board of the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, on the boards of the Plum Street Temple Historic Preservation Foundation, and the Walnut Hills High School Alumni Foundation.
Hoguet is a native Cincinnatian and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown University. She received the M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1980. She and her husband, David, have two daughters and reside in Cincinnati.
