The Spring Open Houses at HUC-JIR were a great success. Held concurrently on all three stateside campuses, over 60 prospective students visited for a 24-hour-long taste of HUC-JIR. Highlights on each campus included lectures with scholars, Professors Jerry Bubis, Leah Hochman, Andrea Weiss, Michael Meyer, and Mark Washofsky.
Rabbi Aaron Panken, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives led a stimulating text study and technological exploration of HUC-JIR's Jewish Studies Portal with the e-classroom.....teaching guests on all three campuses with HUC-JIR's state-of-the-art classroom.
Services were led by students and faculty and included a senior sermon on the New York campus. Guests ranged from college sophomores to mid-career-changers. There were over 30 guests in NY; 17 in LA and 15 in Cincinnati. Students on all three campuses provided home hospitality!
The evaluations reflect that the Open House guests had a terrific time on campus. One guest emailed: "Thanks so much for meeting with me this past Monday and for arranging such a wonderful Open House. I came home feeling incredibly inspired, energized and excited about the rabbinical program at HUC-JIR."
The Admissions and Recruitment team looks forward to providing future Open Houses next Fall and Spring.
