Rabbi David Ellenson, Ph.D., President of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR), announced that he will present the Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, to Dov L. Seidman, Founder, Chairman and CEO of LRN. The degree will be granted at HUC-JIR’s New York Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Congregation Emanu-El of the City of New York, 10 East 66th Street, New York City. Seidman will deliver the Graduation Address to the Class of 2009.
Seidman's book, HOW: Why HOW We Do Anything Means Everything…in Business (and in Life), was published by John Wiley & Sons. HOW was named a best business and leadership book of 2007 and a Wall Street Journal bestseller. He is a member of the President’s Council at HUC-JIR.

His manifold talents, fused with far-sighted idealism and practical sense, elevated him to national corporate leadership, where his guidance and direction have contributed to the growth and progress of business enterprises. Seidman is a Harvard Law School graduate, with honors, and was an editor for the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. He and his wife Maria live in Los Angeles, where LRN is headquartered.
