Rabbi Angel is the Rabbi at Congregation Shearith Israel, the historic Spanish and Portugese Synagogue of New York. Active in Jewish communal organizations, Rabbi Angel is the founder and Honorary President of Sephardic House and past-President of the Rabbinical Council of America. Rabbi Angle has authored and edited 19 books., including The Orphaned Adult: Confronting the Death of a Parent, which won the 1988 Jewish Book Award for Jewish thought, Voices in Exile: A Study in Sephardic Intellectual History, and The Grand Religious Worldview of Rabbi Benzion Uziel.
