HUC-JIR LAUNCHES PLANNED GIVING WEBSITE

"I wish I could do more."

That's a comment we often hear from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s friends when they make gifts to assist our programs. They understand that their support is so vital to the future of Liberal Judaism.  During these times of economic stress, it is even more important for our donors to be able to maximize their giving.

Many donors don’t realize that it is possible to make a gift of transformational significance — the kind of contribution many friends of HUC-JIR would be happy to make if they thought they could. These are gifts that truly make a difference, that ensure a level of support magnifying our ability to fulfill our mission and allow donors to participate at levels much higher than they may think is possible.

Gifts of transformational significance often can be made at very low cost. It is just a matter of planning WHAT to give, HOW to give and WHEN to give.  There are numerous potential advantages to a plannedgift.  Some qualify for an immediate tax deduction, may increase spendable income or provide significant future tax savings for the donor’s family.

Donors who commit to a planned gift create a legacy of personal philanthropy. With your bequest or planned gift, we would be pleased to welcome you to our 1875 Society, our way of recognizing donors who make such gifts. Each year the listing of 1875 Society members is published in the HUC-JIRAnnual Report and is displayed on the website.

The information on these pages illustrates many ways of making planned gifts, and our staff can be of even more help. Just call or e-mail our office.
