Two HUC-JIR students and Nancy Lewitt, Coordinator of Student Welfare at HUC-JIR/Jerusalem will participate in a Video Web Conference on Sunday, July 30, 7-9 PM (Israel time) organized by MASA, the gateway to long term programs in Israel, regarding long-term Israel programs for the 2006-2007 year.
Important news for students and young adults who are preparing to spend a year or a semester in Israel - and for their families. The recent eruption of violence in Israel's north, has prompted a number of students and their families to ask about the fate of long-term Israel programs for the 2006-2007 academic year. MASA, your gateway to long term programs in Israel, is committed to assisting long-term program organizers to continue as usual. The MASA team is assessing the situation, and will continue to monitor and keep you informed of the trends that may affect the programs scheduled to open in the fall of 2006. To keep you informed, MASA has scheduled a special video web conference for Sunday, July 30, 7-9PM Israel time (12 noon-2PM EST, 5-7 PM UK time).
Visit the website at www.masaisrael.org for information and details on how to participate. We pray for a quick resolution and speedy return to a more peaceful situation and secure future. MASA is a project of the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
