The evening will begin with cocktails at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:30 pm, and a program featuring The Honorable Daniel B. Shapiro, former Ambassador of the United States to Israel as well as student participants.  Proceeds from the evening will benefit the students and faculty of HUC-JIR.

This festive evening will pay tribute to Marjorie and Morgan Miller, both leaders and philanthropists.  Margie is a distinguished member of the HUC-JIR Board of Governors and Co-Chair of the Eastern Region Board of Overseers.  In her tenure as a Board member, she has fostered a warm and welcoming environment for the Board members as well as the students on the New York campus. The Millers have supported the College-Institute with endowed scholarship funding and a wide array of important initiatives.  Morgan has served on the Board of Trustees of Beth Israel Hospital for many years as well as other worthy organizations.  HUC-JIR is proud to honor Marjorie and Morgan Miller for their service to the College-Institute and greater community.

The Benefit Chairs are Brenda and Burton Lehman and Ellen and Bob Sunness.  Burton has served as the Chair of the Board of Governors and he and Brenda are both are longtime friends of the College-Institute.  Ellen Sunness is an active member of the Eastern Region Board of Overseers and is on its Executive Committee. She and Bob are an important part of HUC-JIR’s initiatives in Westchester.

The Clergy Chair is Rabbi Matthew Gewirtz, ordained at the New York campus in 1997 and Senior Rabbi at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun of Short Hills, NJ.
