Faculty Opening in Jewish Education at HUC-JIR in Los Angeles

Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) announces the opening of a two-thirds-time non-tenure-track position (Visiting Assistant Professor of Jewish Education) on the Los Angeles campus. The position will be available beginning July 1, 2012. The position will be on a year-to-year contract, renewable for up to 3 years. Responsibilities include teaching, mentoring, and supervising the teaching and curriculum design work of students studying Jewish education. HUC-JIR faculty members are expected to participate in the communal and religious life of a Reform Jewish seminary and the Jewish community at large.

We seek candidates who have completed an MA or Ph.D. in Education or Jewish Education. Desirable specialties include:
  • curriculum,
  • teacher education,
  • professional learning and/or
  • organizational development.
