Convocation Launches Cincinnati Campus Academic Year

The 2014-2015 academic year was launched in Cincinnati with Convocation Ceremonies, which took place on August 27, 2014.  Senior administration, faculty, students, and lay leaders joined together to honor Lynne and Robert Kanter, emeritus member of the HUC-JIR Central Region Board of Overseers, for their abiding commitment to the Cincinnati campus. Ellen Siegel Kovacic, Senior Associate Librarian for Technical Services, and Arnona Rudavsky, Senior Associate Librarian for Public Services, were recognized for 35 years of devoted service to the Klau Library. 

The program participants included Rabbi Aaron D. Panken, Ph.D., HUC-JIR President; Rabbi Jonathan Cohen, Ph.D., Dean; Rabbi Kenneth A. Kanter, Director of the Rabbinical School; Dr. Nili Fox, Director of the School of Graduate Studies; and Cantor Yvon F. Shore, Director of Liturgical Arts and Music. Rabbi Kenneth E. Ehrlich, Counselor to the President, presented the Convocation Address. Read his address > A reception followed at the Sue and Jerry Teller Student Lounge. 

Rabbi Aaron Panken, Ph.D., President, HUC-JIR, and HUC-JIR/Cincinnati faculty convened to begin the 2014-2015 academic year. 

 

Rabbi Kenneth E. Ehrlich, Counselor to the President, presented the Convocation Address.

 

Lynne and Robert Kanter were honored by Rabbi Panken.
