Many American Jews harbor deep suspicion towards Germany because of the Holocaust. In fact, Germany has actively confronted its past and now, more than anywhere else in Europe, Germany is the site of Judaism's most vibrant revival.
Professor Sharon Gillerman’s scholarship focuses on modern German and central European Jewish history with a particular interest in gender history, cultural studies, popular culture, and transnational history.
Dr. Leah Hochman directs the Louchheim School for Judaic Studies at the University of Southern California and serves as Associate Professor of Jewish Thought at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles.
