John E. Pepper, Jr. spent a 40 year career at Procter & Gamble, including Chief Executive Officer and Chairman from 1995-1999 and Chairman of the Board from 2000-2002. He currently serves as Honorary Co-Chairman of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Board, and was CEO from January 2006 – May 2007.
John served as Chairman of the Board of the Walt Disney Company from January 2007-March 2012, and was Vice President of Finance and Administration at Yale University from January 2004-December 2005. Prior to that, he served as Fellow of the Yale Corporation from 1995-2003. In addition, he has worked tirelessly over the past 29 years on Early Childhood and Youth Development, including work with the Cincinnati Preschool Program, Every Child Succeeds, the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, and the national ReadyNation CEO Task Force on Early Childhood. He holds honorary doctorate degrees from many universities including Yale University, Xavier University, the University of Cincinnati, Mount St. Joseph College and the Ohio State University.
Shakila T. Ahmad
Shakila T. Ahmad is President and Board Chair of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati (ICGC) and is the first woman to serve in this capacity for an American Islamic institution, having served on the Board of Trustees since 1995. She is an enthusiastic community leader who has dedicated herself to numerous civic and community causes for over 20 years, while simultaneously having a busy professional career as the director of management at the Allergy & Asthma Specialty Center.
Shakila has served, or currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, YWCA Cincinnati as Racial Justice Vice Chair, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the Ohio Humanities Council, University of Cincinnati Foundation, and the President’s Advisory Council at Xavier University. In her role at the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati, she is a dedicated supporter of interfaith ad outreach efforts, and currently serves on the national Muslim Jewish Advisory Council.
Daniel J. Hoffheimer
Daniel J. Hoffheimer is a partner with Taft, Stettinius & Hollister L.L.P., where his law practice is concentrated in estate planning, trust and probate law, nonprofit and charitable organizations and foundations, family businesses, elder law and guardianships, estate and gift taxation, charitable giving, and probate court litigation. An active community member, he serves on the HUC-JIR Central Region Board of Overseers, and on the boards of Linton, Incorporated and Rockdale Temple.
Among his many civic leadership roles, Dan has served as the Chair of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Public Radio. He was the presiding Co-Chair and co-founder of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and has been Vice Chair of The Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati. In addition, he has served as a director or officer of the Children’s Psychiatric Center, Cincinnati Bar Foundation, Cincinnati Institute of Fine Arts, Jewish Community Relations Council, and many other organizations.
