Policies & Disclosures

The function of the financial aid office of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) is to provide adequate financial assistance to eligible students. This goal is to be accomplished through the coordination of governmental, community, and HUC-JIR resources within the framework of federal and College-Institute regulations and policies.

This manual is a resource to assist the financial aid office in meeting this stated goal. The manual is also available online on our website for students and prospective students. If a given issue is not addressed in the financial aid manual, the financial aid officers will be expected to use professional judgment, based on the established policy for the administration of all financial aid programs as outlined in this manual.
