We highly recommend that people interview on campus. The visit is a meaningful part of the process and enables us to better get to know the candidate for the purposes of placement. (Internal: As a backup, we are willing to make arrangements for a video interview.)
Preparation for the interview
To begin the interview, you will be asked to teach the committee about a Jewish text that holds meaning for you. Please plan a five-minute teaching to share. Feel free to use this as an opportunity to share your particular interests, expertise and talents. There is no prescribed format for this teaching; we invite you to bring your authentic self to the task. If you wish to share materials or resources with the committee please bring enough for five committee members.
Much like a typical interview, the committee will then ask you some common questions as well as questions inspired by your unique application materials and teaching.
